Air Deccan, India – Air Deccan was the true trailblazer in so far as low-cost operations in the Indian aviation environment. It was known popularly as the common man’s airline, with the tagline of “Simpli-fly,” signifying that it was now possible for the common man to fly. It enabled “every Indian to fly at least once in his lifetime.” Air Deccan was the first airline in India to fly to second tier cities like Hubballi, Mangalore, Madurai and Visakhapatnam from metropolitan areas like Bangalore and Chennai. Air Deccan’s phenomenal growth spurred the entry of more than half a dozen low-cost air carriers in India.


Aurion Turnkey (2009) – Air Deccan IOSA Accreditation

Aurion Aviation Advisors facilitated the conduct of the IATA Operational Safety Audit accreditation process for and on behalf of Air Deccan through Aurion Turnkey.

Aurion Aviation Advisors transformed the operations that were conducted with a “Low-Cost” outlook to a high-safety-performance outlook while keeping the low-cost stance intact. It was through the introduction of benchmarked processes as part of the IOSA accreditation process that Aurion Aviation Advisors brought in the level of safety into the operations as required of a carrier that was slated to fly international operations.
